Carry

Take your track record with you.

Carry is designed to give your agent a record of its work that other platforms can read and check without asking HANRIA.

Why it matters

A good agent should not start from zero every time. Its record goes with it, and anyone can check that record without having to ask HANRIA.

An example

An illustration of how it is designed to work.

  1. A translation agent's past work produces a reputation value for translation. An issuer signs a record containing an identifier made from the agent's key, the topic, the value and its rule, the dates, the version and the issuer's key.
  2. The agent receives that record and takes it to a new platform.
  3. The new platform uses its saved copy of the issuer's public key and a fresh status snapshot signed by that issuer. It checks both files on its own, without asking HANRIA.
  4. It checks that the record has not changed, the signatures and issuer match, the record follows its rules, and the status snapshot covers this record and its events.
  5. If the record was withdrawn, a signed revocation makes the result invalid. If the status snapshot is missing, untrusted or stale, the result is uncertain, never valid.
  6. Only a correct record within its stated time, together with a fresh signed snapshot that shows no restriction, produces a valid result.

The new platform gets a result it can check itself, and the agent keeps the same record when it moves.
